A Selection of Camp Activities
All activities have seminars beforehand to explain the reasons behind the ‘experiences,’ followed by a de-briefing session after the event. Activities culminate in a full simulation of a mission.

The G. Force Accelerator
Experience three times the force of gravity as you spin like crazy in this simulator.
Area 51
Using principles from the “Taking the Right Lead” seminar, Area 51 will test your skills in the art of influencing others in such a manner as to gain willing co-operation towards a common goal.
Scuba
Microgravity simulators are necessary to prepare astronauts for space walks. Neutral buoyancy is the state in which objects suspended in liquid will neither sink nor float but maintain a constant depth.
Water Survival
The Mode 8 Abort briefing, (applicable during the launch sequence and landing,) covers procedure for a “bail out” water landing or splashdown scenario. This experience puts the theory learned to the test.
Multi-Axis Trainer
This simulates the disorientation felt if the space capsule went into a tumble spin during flight or more likely during re-entry. Regaining control quickly is vital for the crew’s safety and survival.
Rocket Engineering
Orville Carlisle was the founder of the model rocket engine in 1954. G. Harry Stine built and flew Orville’s rocket and created the NFPA safety code. Students use this knowledge to produce their own rocket.
1/6th.Gravity Chair
The gravitational force of the Moon is approx. 1/6th that of the Earth. This chair simulates moon walking. A person weighing 120lb. on Earth would only weigh 20lb.on the Moon!
The Space Shot
This motion simulator blasts you 160 ft. in the air with 4 G’s of force giving you the sensation of lift off, followed by several seconds of weightlessness.
